Google, meet the TV.

Google TV is Google's latest product. From where they first started by dominating the search engine world, to taking over web browsing with Chrome, introducing Android to smartphones, and a slew of other programs such as GMail, Blogger, Google Reader, Google Docs, and more. Google TV has the potential to completely revolutionize the way we watch and use TV, for good or for worse.
So, it's a TV. By Google. What makes it so special?
To start off, it's not just an ordinary TV. Yes, you can watch TV from channels, but that's just a scratch on the surface of what Google TV really is. Google is most famous for their search engine, so they included that in their TV. The way that this works, is that you can search for say, a certain TV show, movie, genre, and then the TV will show you a list of channels that are currently showing what you searched for. You can also use Google TV as a Web Browser. You could watch videos on YouTube, go to Google.com, our blog, and almost any other website you can imagine. Which takes me to my next point, YouTube.Google TV has a special YouTube application where you select say, a video or a genre, and then that video you started with turns into a channel. The TV will play YouTube videos back after back based on what you picked, like, and don't like so you don't need to find the videos, they find you. You can also use your phone for many things as well. You can use your smartphone as a remote for the TV, and if you find a video on your phone that you want to show to everyone, you can "fling" it to your Google TV. You can also watch movies on demand, like from Netflix and Amazon Video, and when you turn on your TV you get a "homepage," which includes Bookmarks, Applications, Quicklaunch for channels, and Quicklaunch bars for applications as well.

Will this revolutionize the way we watch TV? And how will it compare to Apple TV? Which will reign supreme? Check back in a few weeks to find out. You can find out more about Google TV here.
